S is for...Silver Screen: A beautiful day in the neighbourhood

I did say I’d use S is for...Silver Screen as a means to allow me to write about films. But not write loads, because you don’t want to give too much away and spoil a film for someone. That is a dick move; if you talk about the details of a film that someone else hasn’t seen.

I love film, and over the years I’ve learned how to watch films in different ways. It really is a crazy journey when you learn how films are put together, and you start to see how things can impact upon an audience. The way I watch films now compared to when I was a kid is sooooooo vastly different. I would say, insanely so.

What’s more mental is the fact I’ve just written that. Because, ‘A beautiful day in the neighbourhood’ is all about Mr. Rogers. And whilst I was vaguely familiar with who Mr. Rogers was, obviously I’m not that up to speed with who he was because I’m not American.

But basically, Mr. Rogers gets people AND he gets audience; as does Mr. Tom Hanks, who plays him.

Tom Hanks could make a film about kicking puppies and you’d still think it was incredible. The man is that good.

You know when you watch a film and think, “Well, that’s a couple of hours of my life that I won’t get back.” Yeah, this film isn’t that. It’s a solid.

That said, I still need to watch VelociPastor. Watch. This. Space.
