Once upon a time there was this mad fucking virus that started to engulf the entire planet and we were all faced with certain doom...
No, no, no, no, no...
The year is 2020. Food rations have become enforced. Children have been separated from their loved ones in an unprecedented move to stop the spread of a deadly contagious repugnant death.

Timmy was sat in his local pub supping on his preferred choice of beverage; flat coke from McDonald’s. The landlord, Barry Scott, yes the Barry Scott, spotted him out of the corner of his eye and thought to himself, “Normally I’d get up and kick the cheeky cunt out. But chances are that bloody Coronavirus will get him, the twat. After all, I’ve licked as many people as I possibly could today and have spat on all the tables for a reason.”
”Alright Timmy?!” Barry chimed across the bar.
Raising his head from his smart phone for barely a second Barry replied, “Yeah ta.” Then he returned to slurping away from his barely biodegradable cup.
”Bellend.” Barry thought you himself.

I hate people.
No, no, no, no, no...
I really hate people.

There’s an Englishman, a Scotswoman(little bit different to the traditional structure of how this normally goes. Let’s see what happens), and an Irishman. And the Englishman is a bit of a berk.
Oooohhhhh, I get it. Very clever.
No, no, no, no, no...
First I was afraid, I was petrified.
No, no, no, no, no...
LOOKOUT what’s that behind you?!
Only joking! There’s nothing there.
That’s your paranoia! Silly paranoia. Sneaking up like that on the reader. Go and play with anxiety and depression somewhere else until we really need you. You little tinker.
No, no, no, no, no...
Oh fuck it, I don’t know.
Is there a perfect way to start a story? Pfffft, to be honest, who fucking cares? There are so many ways to do something. Pretty much infinite; depending on how broad you care to make your perspective of a given situation. So many elements and factors. Thus making all possibly structure of scenarios infinite. Ta-dah!!
But the bit that fascinates me is how it all impacts on the audience, or the reader. The different way people react and respond to a story. Finding the commonalities of how people respond to things. For example, in my life I can pretty much confirm that when you meet a stranger it’s not always wise to greet them by saying, “Alright dickhead?!”. For some reason, that doesn’t tend to go down that well.
But I wanted to write about storytelling because now we have pretty much reached a state of stay indoors until all this shit blows over, I think it’s important to write about what I think is at the heart of everything, and that’s storytelling.
We are all story tellers. Fact. Just like we are all poets, but some of us just don’t know it.
Ooooooooooohhhhhh sick bars bro! Thanks.
I write because I know just how important escapism is to dealing with reality(realism). The way I see it is, to get better at dealing with reality the quickest, easiest, and simplest way to get better at it is studying some form of escapism.
You can’t speed up time to learn things through experience, but you can practise and study how you can differently present and read things and learn how to see the same thing from a different perspective. That way you basically get to experience the same thing in multiple ways, if you can learn how to see it from more than one perspective.
Something like that, anyway.
The End.
